Hey guys I’m planning a trip to Colorado at the end of the month for almost 2 weeks it will run into the first week in April. I’m wanting to check out Silverton, Telluride, and ouray. I want to do part of the alpine loop if possible I’ve got a lifted F150 on 35’s and will have a small Capri camper on the whole time. I’m going to be coming up from the New Mexico side so I’m thinking of doing Ophir pass into telluride and then Imogene down to cinnamon pass and then start heading back east from there hitting up different areas on the way back. Are any of these trails closed or possible during this time of the year and anything I should be concerned with for my rig I’ll post of photo of my setup. Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks are the dispersed camping spots in the area open to get to? I’d still like to visit silverton and telluride even if I can’t do the main trails

I would expect the lower elevation ones to be available.
I totally get you wanting to see those areas. Just as a suggestion, though, you might also consider the Moab and Canyonlands area of Utah for this trip. It will be a great time of year for that.
BTW, I used to do a good bit of off-roading and camping in Eastern Tennessee back when I lived in Alabama. I have some really fond memories of those days.
I’ve only got about a week and 4 days to get there and explore around a bit so I’m just trying to make the most of it. How do you like living in Colorado now? East Tennessee is beautiful but I’m definitely thinking I need to move further west to be closer to a lot more off roading camping

Back to your questions regarding your setup, is it safe to assume the camper is fastened to the truck inside the bed?
Are you prepared to air down for any off-road activities with a good air compressor?
Do you have a working heater for the camper?
You're actually coming about a month earlier than I thought when I first skimmed your message. You may still encounter a good bit of snow. Spring is usually the snowiest time of year here.
If you have any interest in heading north on I-25 to Pueblo into Colorado and then highway 50 West across the state, let me know. I could show you some fun routes on the front range that should be open and maybe camp a night if you had any interest. No offense taken, if not.
