Hi,

I have a coleman dual burner cooker and I was wondering if you guys have a way of cleaning out the fuel system? Recently we have had issues starting it, but the fuel gets through to the combustion chamber.

We have been running it on petrol, would using coleman fuel help to clean the system?

Cheers

Yes, they all seem to run better on Coleman fuel (White gas)! You could try a mix of carburetor cleaner and Coleman fuel, get the stove running and let it go for while. A little oil on the pump mechanism helps make sure you build enough pressure to run properly. Benz.

You may be able to clean the existing generator, but for the money, I'd get a new generator for it. In the future, try to only use Coleman fuel or comparable. The additives in gasoline significantly shorten the life of the generators. With the fuel tank off, you can also disassemble and clean the burners. They're just stacks of corrugated washers but blowing some compressed air through the burner assembly can clear out the bugs the fuel scent always seems to attract.

Use some seafoam in a few tanks of the coleman white gas. It'll help clear the generator and probably get you back in business. Using regular unleaded gas (RUG in the Coleman community) you'll see shorter life from the generator but with a little maintenance they'll still do fine for a long time. I'll only run RUG in mine if I don't have white gas to use. It's handy that they'll operate on both!

Google " cleaning a Coleman stove generator". Tons of info out there. You-Tube videos too. I have five stove of different sizes, and had to disassemble and clean every pipe and fitting on each one. They all run like new now.
