NOW, I'm making a trip to Sutton,WV sometime during the week mentioned. Not sure when yet. I'm going to get a DECKED storage system I purchased from a fellow board member here.. A friend of mine picked it up for me and I'm gonna meet him half way..

Ok folks,

Based on some guidance from @Pick Teej, and some map and route recon, tentative timeline and link up as follows:

0600 link up at BP at 908 exit off of Rte 28 hwy north, for anyone traveling from the burgh. 0700 link up at the BP on 68 north off of I80 west for all other travelers. This is near a walmart and a few eateries and gas stations for anyone needing to top off on food, fuel and other comforts.

From the 0700 link up point we will get back on I80 west to Rte 66 and then proceed to kellettville campground area thru Marienville. This is about an hour drive. The goal is to hit Kellettville around 0800 and have a solid days worth of light to explore. We will like use the trail way points that @Pick Teej provided in his link as a guide. If you're using Gaia, it's easily downloaded into gaia once you have the Dropbox app.

Since I'll unlikely get to do a pre-run, we will just have to be flexible with routes and potential locked gates. But, it should be a solid day.

Bring snacks, drinks etc... for stops on trail. Depending on the final trail route, we can circle back to the kellettville tavern or find something else to close out the day with a meal and a beer. Not sure yet how close the Westline Inn is, but that was always a favorite growing up.

Open to suggestions if any one has ideas or concerns.

I'll be running a CB. We can run channel 21 or 22 for starters.

Tim

Weather update for Marienville. 10 day weather forecasts high of 20 degrees and snow.

Will continue to update weather for the 29th and will post a snow fall report as we get closer. For those that are attending, I'll have a set of traction boards/faketraxxx, ropes and chains, my hilift, and a 10k winch. Depending on snow fall level, we may be limited on trails. But we will have a better idea next week.

If I can do this, I'll be coming from the north.. I'm in Jamestown,NY so I'd be going through Warren and then to Youngsville..then on to Kellettville.. My question is where and what time should I meet you guys? At Kellettville at 8am.. right? Are we following Salmon Run? Temps are going to jump up into the 50's for a few days.. So most snow should be gone.. It'll be a mud and possible ice ride.

I ran the northeast portion of this. About 8-10 inches of snow in the deep untraveled spots. A lot of the trail are oil roads. Some traveled by the oil crews and snowmobiles, others not at all and I was plowing my own way. Some roads are marked closed with a sign but the gates are left wide open we could likely find a way around them if people were nervous. I ran down one and didn't see any issues as to why it was closed. I didn't get a chance to run down to the previously mentioned gate as the hill was at a grade I wasn't sure I was comfortable going down alone. With more people I would have done it, but I didn't want to get in a bind and not be able to get out. Th2 ground seemed mostly solid and I had traction the entire time.

Thanks for the feedback. 8-10" sounds like a lot, but your pics look like it seemed pretty tame as long as we have some recovery gear just in case and maxxtraxx will be useful to have as cheap insurance.

Look forward to running this!

It is mostly tame. The run from kelletville to The north is all highway. It's definitely scenic but it's not "off road" would you guys want to stop at a few places to check out views? There are 3 places. Kinzua sky Bridge, Jakes rocks and kinzua dam. Sounds like you guys will want to run the route in reverse so the last place would be the dam in the north west of the gpx

If I go, I could just head home after the dam. That's just outside of Warren. How many are 'in' so far?
