I have a couple of questions
1. Does the intake/exhaust normally run along the bottom? It can run straight down, or to the sides. With the extensions O put on the feet, ot can run out of the end and it is more convienient for portable use.
2. Are you worried about melting the solder on your copper? Not worried because the solder all melted out of the copper on the first run! So I used pop rivets to mechanically fasten the exhaust pipe.
3. The pic of the wrapped exhaust looks fairly long. Do you put the muffler on what your pic shows or is the muffler shown under the wrap? The muffler is at the end of the exhaust pipe. There is nothing under the wrap other than the exhaust pipe.
4. Did your custom exhaust quiet the normal exhaust any? No, but the exhaust noise is rather low. The most noise after it is up and running is the fan for the blower. Adding a 16' hose to the heater output quieted it substantially.
5. If you didntmod the exhaust, would it have been possible for it to start a fire if left on the ground? I would think so. The exhaust pipe as it exits the heater gets real hot. I measured it with a laser thermometer at over 250 degrees.
Hope this helps!
