US West Central California Monthly Meet Up

I just got home from the Mojave Road with an OLB group, my son came as well and got about 150 dirt miles under his learners permit. This is my second time doing the MR and I was reminded of two things:
First is there is so much to see out there, more than one trip could fit
Second- the camp fires each night were a lot of fun sitting around and getting to know people and catch up with friends from previous trips @Magic Mike @DocTaco @Narbob
May 2-5th is our local groups’ trip.

How was Soda lake? I did Mojave Road last week, rained all night Wednesday. I was solo and Soda lake had several inches of water on the main track and the rest was too muddy to try on my own.

@DocTaco and I had to leave the main group early Sunday to get back home for work on Monday and we did not cross Soda Lake. Two Jeeps had come by the day before pretty muddy and I’m not a fan of caustic mud caked to the bottom of my new truck. Hoping in May it will be nice and dry

Looks like a great trip Dave. Thanks for the pictures. I love that what looks to be a pretty stock Chevy Tahoe/Sub?? did the trip.

Hey, with the rain finally letting up I'm planning on heading to Frank Raines OHV park in Patterson this Sunday, the 31st. It's a great place to do a shakedown of your rig, find it's limits, and practice driving in 4-Lo. I plan on being there at 9 AM. I'd be glad to jump in with anyone needed some first-time off-roading advice. A lot of times, just watching other rigs lines and speed will give you the confidence to try it in yours. Hope to see some of you there!

9am...hummmm I might show up. I’m on stock tires but would be interesting to see the limits of the tires and take home some tips.

Feel free to come out anytime that works from you. I'm planning on being there from 9 to 1. Going to a place like this on a stock rig will give you a good baseline on what your rig can handle and where you should go with it next. Plus, it might surprise you and do really well! I created a Rally Point for this. Frank Raines OHV, 4x4 Practice
