Carson Ghost Town Co Alpine Loop

I am planning a trip this July to CO along Alpine Loop. I want to visit Carson Ghost town and camp close to the town to access for night photos. Are there any dispersed camp sites neat the ghost town? Is camping allowed? Any other suggestions for camps sites along Alpine Loop, Engineer Pass and Cinnamon Pass portions?

Looks like Carson is located in BLM land. Should be quite a few places to disperse camp.
