just chasing peoples opinion. can you fix a tubeless tyre out on the trail if you blow out the side wall of the tyre by putting a patch on the inside wall and removing the valve and putting a tube in. this best done at camp after the spare has replaced it. just a thought for replacing more than one spare tyre for when doing trips out back of the black stump.

Yes it can be done. It'll take some time, I've seen guy's sew the side wall together with wire, patch the inside and ran it. The tube is a better idea, My concern would be a bulge on the side wall even with the patch. Ron

I was thinking the same thing Ron. I was talking with my old man and he reminded me we used to patch all our trucks and tractors out on the stations but we were running tubes in every thing back then

I did it once on a motorcycle. Not much fun, but if you're stuck with no functional spare... Pick the best of holed tires and be prepared to scratch your rims. Make sure the tube valve will fit through the valve stem hole - Ideally tested during a tire repair or replacement.
