Hi everyone,

it's been a while so a very belated Happy New Year to you all!

Unfortunately my health dipped for the worse and up till now I have not managed to find anyone who can help -as in doctor.....

Still my dream of overlanding properly is very much alive and in fact yesterday I rediscovered Wikiloc which I forgot was even on my Garmin GPSMAP 67i, I haven't used it for so long.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask..... I have seen this from Sweden. It's an Arctic Trucks Isuzu D-Max AT33 build, I guess it's similar a little bit to the AT35 Basecamp that is available I think officially from Isuzu UK:

I thought I'd pop it up here because it looks way cool!! So apologies Viktor if you are here and have already talked about this amazing rig :-)

My question to anyone who hopefully can translate the Swedish, is what are the orange or amber flashing lights on top, and at 14.00 mins in to the video what is that central column with tablet holder and integrated table?

Maybe if you could also explain why 2x radios additionally, and what is that cup holder thing sitting in the "cup holder"?

For now I'm studying the Norwegian website of Arctic Trucks and have fallen in love with the AT37 build of the D-Max.

From what I can see, they give you both front and rear (standard with base model) lockers and Bilstein shocks but they don't mention anything about front sway bar disconnects. That would also be a nice feature to have for rock crawling and extra articulation.
Also I'm not sure if the 3000cc version of the D-Max is available in Europe somewhere? I know they have them in Thailand, Australia and South Africa but would love to see a LHD version as it makes more sense and is more practical when traveling around the world in mainly LHD countries.

Hopefully someone will know what's going on inside Viktor's rig as I think that tablet holder/table is pretty interesting ;-)

Thanks.

If you turn on the CC button and then use the settings you can shift the translation to English. He built the tablet, computer holder thing. I don't know about the flashing lights.

Oh... I didn't know there were English subs available

Thank you

Those lights are ozzlights, I assume.

Nice rig and good setup though.

Hi... long time :-) hope you are well and everything is ok

Yeah that rig is nice! <3

I'm currently watching the Youtube channel Norweigan Xplorer who goes around in a Fiat Ducato van. Very nice camping in blizzards haha

I'm really starting to learn about practical meal solutions on the road which is great for someone who up till now has had no interest in cooking lol

As I'm currently studying up on HAM radio and APRS I managed to find this:

I'm sure one of the guys with multiple radios in his truck was using this brand - though I could be wrong?

Not sure if there are other style solutions for mounting tablets and radio face plates in rigs but still looking and post back if I see anything interesting, in case someone is interested and it helps out ;-)

EDIT: just found Lido mounts too: Lido Radio Products No Holes Mounting Solutions

Bulletpoint is top notch. I have the truck specific rubrigrid mount and run 2 phones mounts, a tablet mount and gps mount off it. I love it

Cool! I tried checking up swivel tables but couldn't find any.... mostly got stuff for eating off of and not something that looks like a table and not a cooking tray lol

Not sure if the Bulletpoint stuff is modular? Would love to have a tablet mount with radio face plate mount on a different arm or so....

It is modular.

It is ball and arms arrangement, pick your arm length and then pick what ball you want for either end. You can get adapters to RAM mount, y balls, screw down mounts, bolt mounts etc. They use 20mm aluminum balls, which I find way more secure than the plastic or coated ones from other companies. 20mm balls are rather common now or you can get a 1 inch adapter end then your options are endless. Just hit up amazon and search 20mm ball or ram mount and you will have a billion options

I also prefer the bulletpoint type ones as the arms are secured at either end versus in the middle. So you can adjust the angle of the item at one end without the whole arm loosing its position.

Oh wow! Thats pretty cool!

Maybe one needs to DIY a table but I guess it should be easy from the right place

So Shawn, does this mean you can mix and match having a tablet holder and front plate of a 2-way radio??

Now I'm starting to see interesting possibilities :-)

Hopefully they're available outside the US too. That would be amazing...

I dont know about something as large as a table but swapping mounts is 100% a thing and easy. And they are available outside the US at least in Canada, I got mine off amazon

Pic from the internet.

This is a good example, to change the mount simply undo the top wing nut remove old mount swap to new one.

This is not my truck, but almost the exact setup I use. When not using the gps / tablet etc I just loosen the wing nuts and remove the mounts and arms for daily driving. that just leaves the the bottom balls on the dash out of sight.

iu

This is all that is on the dash day to day for me. Hope that helps

Also there are a ton of Chinese copies of these type of mounts on amazon. You can probably get something similar for less money if you really wanted to. But I dont know how good they are or how long they last.

For me the bulletpoing price is worth it to hold my $1500 cell phone, $900 Gps and $500 tablet. I didnt feel comfortable wheeling with that much money hanging off knockoff mounts.

You got no worries they are available on UK amazon:
Amazon

Actually I think I may have found 2 guys who use them... what I meant with table is like from the video above:

Looks like the auto generated captions say it's a laptop table! That makes sense..... I've seen a few HAM radio guys use things like that.

Found this too:

I'm sure this is where I found the mounts from

I think the RAM 2500 in this video has the dash version you posted above:

This is starting to make a lot of sense now ;-)

Thanks so much :-) :-)

There's also a company called Lido too that seems to have quite a few things:

No idea if it's mix and match but reading up on it now :-)

- just in case anyone is interested

[EDIT]
RAM mounts also seem pretty nice:
