Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip across half the country and am looking for a little help. The two general areas I want to find camping spots are listed below. Details about the trip related to camping are also listed. If someone could provide me some guidance I would really appreciate it.

1) general camping locations for 1 night each:
- approximately between Wahsatch, Utah and Green River, Wyoming- stay along or as near to i80 as possible
- approximately around Sioux Falls, SD near i90 if possible
2) month- November
3) Jeep is outfitted with lift and offroad tires (2018 wk2 grand Cherokee)
4) nothing too crazy for offroading since I am actually on a bit of a time constraint for this travel and not necessarily planning to do offroading on the journey
5) easy pull off area to sleep in vehicle tent
6) preferably woodsy (not looking for a truck stop/RV park/Walmart)- think camping but easy in and out access for a long trip

Hopefully I've provided enough info to go off of. basically either help with locations you may know of or an easy way to search for them

thanks,

lucas

It might be easier to check out the campgrounds that are located in the area that you are wanting to travel through. Being November and the location I really doubt there will be much camping activities in those campgrounds and you should be able to get a descent winter price with plenty of seclusion.

What I have done in the past is plan my route and figure out how long you want to drive each day. Then start looking for campgrounds 7 hours (or whatever) away from each days starting point.

You might try the app iOverland. Its a good resource for campsites and other amenities and its free. For longer trips I dont typically make reservations at sites or too specific of a plan. Staying an extra day somewhere can throw off your whole itinerary. With iOverland you can just search around your location or route as you go.
