After waiting a really long time for my bumper/ tire carrier, it arrived and I instantly regretted not getting one with a table. Even if it's just someplace to make coffee. So I set out to build my own. At first I was gonna cut a sheet of aluminum, but this baking pan was rigid, already cut to size, and pretty cheap. A few hinges, some stainless cable, and aluminum stock and it came together pretty well. It's held in the up position by some White Cap marine 3/8 rubber rod holders. It's staying put so far. I won't be headed into the dirt for another 8 days, but we'll see how solid it is then. Anyway, it was a fun and inexpensive project that should be pretty useful.

Very slick and cost effective to just use a good commercial quality sheet pan. Nice work!

That’s a fantastic and creative solution! It's great that you found an inexpensive and functional way to add a table to your bumper/tire carrier. Using the baking pan was a smart move—it’s already the right size and provides rigidity. The hinges, cable, and marine rubber rod holders are all clever touches for ensuring stability. It sounds like it’s coming together nicely, and I'm sure it will be really useful once you hit the dirt! Looking forward to hearing how it holds up on your next trip.
