That new BC Discovery tool is neat! I moved from BC the summer before last, so I wasn't aware of it. I always used the interactive land use map, which does load a little bit faster, and can be found here:

Alberta has a similar map, however it's way less intuitive and user friendly, so I've never been able to get it to work to display where the crown parcels are. In Alberta, every county publishes a land title map of their own that is usually in PDF format and shows the various land parcels, sometimes with owner names, which can be helpful if you want to request access to a piece of private land. If you search the county name followed by Land Title Map, they're usually easy to find.
