Does any one know which gas cans are legal in California? Are they actually issuing tickets for gas cans that are not carb compliant? Thank you I've been trying to research for weeks.

All gas cans are legal for use in California. They law only bans sales of non CA compliant gas cans.
Also if you have dump cans, the plastic ones with the rubber hose, you can't transport them with the hose on. You have to take it off and seal the can with the correct lid.

Wavian cans are nice, but pricey, and you can buy a normal spout for them from Amazon.

I carry Waivans and love them. I did buy a separate nozzle that was fast flow though because the CA compliant one is terrible.
