Calgary to the west coast

Good day!
Girlfriend told me we have to do an "easy" trip this summer, and she demands beach camping. So im looking for any info anybody can provide on campsites on the west coast. Preferably primitive, but ive paid for campsites before....

I'm not sure if there is any primitive camping but Hornby Island has great beaches and great weather usually. I've never been but family out there love it. It's off Vancouver island.

I have been thinking about cutting south, working my way west, then back north again. Its sooo much easier crossing the border now that im dating an American!
