Here is my build so far I'll break it down the best I can on here.
I started off with a 2013 Subaru Forester fresh off the lot with 8 miles on it I believe.

I actually went a year without any mods just because it was so new, but after that first year I wanted to do some cosmetic things to make it mine.
I added some thick Gorilla Off-Road mud flaps first.
IMG_0968.JPG
After that I realized I didn't like all the chrome on my vehicle so I started working on covering it up and making it look to my liking.
I plastidiped my grill and had my door handles covered in flat black vinyl as well as de badged my trunk.

IMG_2766.JPG
After that I had my front windows tinted to match the rear.
IMG_0965.JPG
From here I was done cosmetically for the time being and started thinking about making it a more capable rig for off roading here in the NW, my first purchase was a set of Triple Armor from Primitive Racing.
IMG_0901.JPGIMG_0893.JPG
With a front Sump, trans and rear diff skid plate installed I was happy I wasn't going to push a rock threw one of my low laying pans or diff. But started to think about a lift and larger tires now.

I actually purchased a 2" Anderson Design & Fab lift kit first and less than a week after it arrived in the mail he announced that he was going to build a 4" kit for my rig. So I contacted him and he worked with me to upgrade for a 4" kit that was much more detailed and in depth.
As I waited for the first couple sets to be produced I did some homework and purchased a set of tires and wheels that would max out my 4" lift kit without any major rubbing or complications.
So I bought some Method Racing 502VT Spec rally wheels and 235/75R15 BFG AT KO2's to go on after it was lifted.

So those went into storage as I waited for the lift kit to be fabricated and as I was thinking about the coming upgrades I figured brakes would be a good upgrade as well. So I researched what I could and came up with a set of slotted and dimpled rotors and a carbon ceramic break pad.

After I had upgraded my brakes I waited for my chance to get into ADF's shop and get my lift kit installed.
It was a very long few months as I waited for my lift to be fabricated and get the chance to finally show up but that day came and I couldn't be happier with there service and support with this lift kit and build!
I brought my new wheels and tires with me when I went to get my lift kit installed so when we where done it was a complete package!
IMG_0972.JPG
Here is an after/before picture.
IMG_1016.JPG
ADF thought out and fabricated allot to get this Kit top notch for this vehicle, even some nifty logos on the strut tops!
IMG_1010.JPG
After all was said and done it turned out to be the 3rd 09-13 Subaru Forester in the states that I know of to be on a 4" lift.
I was feeling very comfortable now that I could do most off road trails with confidence so I met up with a couple other friends and we headed out to a local ORV park to test it out.
I didn't get many pictures but one of our group Hydrolocked there Nissan Pathfinder in the early part of the trails so I ended up pulling him off the trail so that he could get a tow home.

IMG_1105.JPG
After the tow out we decided to finish the ORV trail with no issues, I was highly impressed with what this Forester can do after that! I realized I needed a full size spare at this point so I ordered a 5th tire and wheel to match.
I wanted to start Outfitting my Forester now for cargo and gear I already had to get ready for the upcoming trips to see family in Idaho and Montana so I ordered a Frontrunner roof rack and spare tire mount.
IMG_1331.JPGIMG_1337.JPGIMG_1338.JPG
After a fair amount of adjustments and getting it all set up it's turned out to be an awesome upgrade only weighing 67lbs and able to hold a 660lb static load.

With the Frontrunner rack mounted up I started to think what's next? So I contacted a local Fab shop to help me make a rear bumper with swing away rear tire carrier and a mount for my two Adventure Trailer locking Jerry can mounts.
Hopefully within the next two weeks I'll hear back from them to get this project rolling!
This is a picture of Fozromer's custom bumper made by leadFoot off-road out of SoCal.IMG_1375.JPG
This will be close to what I am having built up for my Forester.
At this point I've been doing my homework on a dual battery system and possibly a solar panel as well. Still allot to plan and research for the electrical system.
This is where I am with my build so far, ever growing and changing as is my gear I plan to pack.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

This is a great build. Have you had any fitment/rubbing issues with the 235/75R15s?

Very little, I had to hammer my pinch welds flat when I Lifted it and there is a very small spot on the front but only at a certain angle will it rub. Otherwise no issues! I’ll have a big update in a couple months, getting a custom winch bumper built now!

Nice! Can't wait to see the custom bumper.

Who's doing the fabrication for you?

Full Force Metalworks is making the bumper for me, it’s made out of aluminum and will only weigh about 60lbs! It will have a winch Mount and fog light mounts with recovery points as well! I’m excited to get it all done and put on!

I didn't know that they fabbed the bumper on the Discover NW Expeditions rig – Discover Nw Expeditions (@discover_nw_expeditions) • Instagram photos and videos – until I started scrolling around their site.

That should be awesome! Are you going to be installing it yourself? The fact that they're bolt on without having cut into any of your OEM parts is amazing.
