Hi everyone. After only one year, we are selling our barely used Bruder EXP-8. With less than 20 days of total use, it's essentially untouched.

Key information:
  • The trailer is currently based on the east coast of Canada.
  • The trailer is made by Bruder in Australia and was imported to Canada in late July 2023.
  • The model is the EXP-8. View the link for all of the pertinent details for the trailer.
  • The trailer is standard, with the only custom option from Bruder being a second bunk-bed (we are a family of 5).
  • The trailer has a Transport Canada plate welded to the frame (making it easy to import to the USA, or use in Canada now), and has all Canadian taxes/import duties paid.
  • Asking Price: I paid about $215K USD (duty/shipping included) (Canadian tax was separate, obviously, and already paid as well). Ideally, I want to recoup as much of our costs as possible.

Why are we selling it already?

In a classic dad move, I bought the trailer hoping my family would share my vision. With all the open crown and public land in Canada, and the stunning nature accessible with a trailer like this, I dreamed of spending weeks in the wilderness together. However, my three young kids would much rather go to campgrounds than endure bumpy logging roads for hours without a playground in sight. These trailers aren’t made to just sit on a smooth campground pad! This rig truly deserves to be used by someone who will take full advantage of its rugged suspension system.

What do we think about the trailer, and Bruder the company?

I can’t say enough good things about this trailer. The build quality is outstanding—it's more reminiscent of a high-end yacht in terms of fit and finish than a typical RV or trailer. Everything feels over-engineered and built to last. The off-grid capabilities are incredible! With the massive solar array and onboard battery capacity, you’ll never be short on power. I often ran the air conditioning at night without worrying about draining the battery. Plus, the diesel hot water and heating system is both reliable and fuel-efficient. As for the company, I initially had concerns about support from Australia to Canada. However, I've had two interactions with their support team so far, and both were excellent experiences.

Build times for these trailers are over a year. If you are seriously interested in an EXP-8 from Bruder and you are based in North America, this unit is ready to go now. I would be happy to set up a time to give you a video tour.

Cheers!

For those wondering - that is a 2024 RAM 2500 with Carli 2.5 pintop suspension upgrade, along with a Tune M1 lightweight truck camper. It is also for sale, either as a package with the Bruder, or separately. Not currently fitted are the 17" method wheels mounted to Nitto RIDGE GRAPPLER LT315/70R17 tires, that also come with the truck.

Here are some additional photos of the exterior and interior of the trailer.

This is the main entrance to the cabin of the trailer. The big main window is in front of the kitchen. The three pull-down tables are conveniently located right outside the kitchen window.

IMG_2611.jpeg
The rear view of the trailer. You can see the diesel tank on the lower left, and the winch on the lower right.

IMG_2610.jpeg
Right side of the trailer. The door on this side leads directly into the bathroom, which is great when you want to avoid bringing dirty feet inside. The outdoor shower hose plugs into the white box pictured.

Another view of the front right.

Main entrance into the trailer. Fridge on the left, bathroom entrance is straight ahead.

IMG_2592.jpeg
The only modification from the factory we asked for was the addition of a second bunk (we are a family of 5). The bunk pictured here does not come standard. We ended up leaving this up as we traveled, as a great massive shelf to hold all kinds of stuff (sleeping bags, etc).

IMG_2594.jpeg
"Three-bed mode" - top bunk, lower double bed down.

IMG_2595.jpeg
"Four-bed mode". Two bunks up, double bed down. Note - the screens for both bunks are included, and can be used if you like. One is pictured here.

"Day-use mode"- table up, beds away.

Another view of "day mode".

The master bedroom. We upgraded the 4-5" mattress that came from the factory to a 10" foam mattress. Much better! Lots of storage in this room.

IMG_2601.jpeg
The bathroom/mudroom. It is such a functional room - hang wet gear, turn on the heater and walk away.

IMG_2602.jpeg
The shower pressure is great, and the water is hot!

IMG_2603.jpeg
I am 6'2" and there is plenty of room here for a nice shower.

IMG_2604.jpeg
The "garage". We have a second, brand-new cassette for the toilet. The blue hose is designed to be thrown into a fresh-water source (like a river), and it will draw from there, bypassing the 300L of onboard tanks.

IMG_2605.jpeg
This is on the opposite side of the trailer to the garage. The clothes washer/dryer is here, as well as access to the diesel heater, and on-board air-compressor.
