Thanks for the thoughts, I agree the truck route supplies so much more room and endless possibilities. I had a Jeep in the past and agree storage was an issue. It was an issue just in my normal day to day, not to mention any camping expeditions. I’ve never had a truck before so maybe that’s part of my hesitation.
Yay, trucks!
Come to the dark side...we have cookies! And lots of space for cargo under our Leer camper shells

I was going back and forth a month ago, and ultimately decided to stick with the 4Runner for light overlanding. But I was very close to going with an F250 Tremor over an F150. Enough payload to haul a Hawk Camper with ease. 4x4, rear lockers, Tremor package, Warn winch, dual batteries, HD alternator, upfitter switches, 35" AT tires, for a list of $57K. But big, with a huge turning radius.
Back in 2016, I rented a 4runner and drove it from New England Town to Apopka Florida and back in a weekend. I will say that I am a huge fan of this current generation 4Runner, and would buy one in a heartbeat. I can see why it has been produced for a solid decade.

People (snobby automotive magazines and critics?) Talk about the "old" design of the Tundra and 4runner, but I couldn't care less. If it ain't broke, dont fix it. If it works well, let it work well. Dont change things just for the sake of changing it.
Case in point the newest GMC Sierra compared to the 14-19...in my opinion, the 14-19 hits a design sweet spot. The current version seems like every little detail was tweaked, "just a little here...a little there..." to the point it gas lost its cohesive fluidity of design

Yup, I don’t understand anyone concerned with Toyota, in general, not keeping up with interior design trends. Trends are just that, trends, they are marketed sold and tossed out later on because the next new trend is even better. Consumers are suckers, and one is born every minute. When I get dressed up, which is rare, I’m the guy with the button down oxford, shiney black penny loafers, and 501s.
