Brewer Lake difficulty? Trails nearby?

Hey Everyone,

Just joined the community and really excited for my second trip. I've gone to Poker Flats and that was a really fun trip. I'm looking to go to Brewer Lake the weekend of the 19th with the below rigs:

- 3rd Gen 4Runner, 285 KO2s, sliders, skid plates
- 5th Gen 4Runner, no lift, 31" KO2s, factory skid plates
- FJ, 285 KO2s, sliders, skid plates, lifted
- 1st Gen Tacoma, 285 KO2s, lifted
- LR3, no lift, 265 KO2s

However, it seems like there is a lot of rock crawling at the last 1/4 mile of the trail. Is it doable with this crew? If not, we're looking for somewhere in the Fresno/Shaver Lake area that we can camp at near a lake. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The last couple hundred yards won't be doable with those trucks without a lot of sliding. I barely made it on 32's, 3" lift, and fully protected.

Try the Strawberry lake trail instead, it's close by and quite a bit easier, but longer.

Thanks Jeff! From what I've heard, Strawberry Lake was more difficult, which is why we landed on Brewer Lake. For Strawberry, would our trucks make it down to the lake or camping area?

Strawberry lake was easier, last year at least. I think you'd make it down no problem, no hardcore rock crawling. Some rock stacking for sure. You can't camp quite as close to the lake on Strawberry than Brewer.

Another option is to do Brewer, and you can always park before the last hundred yards to the lake - then walk the rest.
