Blue Ridge Parkway

A buddy and I will be cruising the parkway next month. Haven’t booked any camping spots, but I have a few marked. My question for those that may have some expertise here, is will I easily be able to find “primitive” campsite along the way? Any and all info is greatly appreciated. We will be in a Wrangler and an LX470 both outfitted with RTTs.
