BLM land target practice around the Bay Area

Hey guys. Can anyone recommend any good spots to go shooting in or around the bay area? I know of Panoche Hills but access road is closed this time of year and its a 3 mile uphill hike from the gate. (Not trying to hump all my gear and ammo) Any tips would my highly appreciated. Thanks!!

My buddies and I were planning to go to Panoche Hills but like you said it's closed.

We're heading up to Murphys.

There's also Williams Hill but it isn't nearly as nice as Panoche.

I haven't been to Murphys yet. I have a buddy that recommended we go up to Lake Mclure. So we're going to check that out on Saturday. I guess it worked out because my inlaws live in Modesto so the wife and kids can visit them while I throw some rounds down range

It's about 2.5hrs from S. SJ
There's a few spots up there, there's a small knife/gun shop off of 4 that can suggest a few spots. Doesn't hurt to help them out by buying something from them either.
