Okay, here is the route we took. We met at the Chevron at H18 and Central. Take Central South / Left on Round Up Way / Right on Bowen Ranch rd / Stay left at the "y" keep on Bowen ranch Rd / Left at the next "Y" to merge on Coxey Rd / at some point you will make a left at a "y" for 3n14 Horse Springs / from here you might hit some 3N16 but ultimately you want to hit 3N17 White Mountain / you should be heading up the hills along the ridge / There are a few spurs off this to the left which will reward great views of the desert. / we went right at 3N11 down to 3N16 / 3N17 continues but I cant say the difficulty. With Chris in a 2wd we played it safe. / We went left on 3n16 which will take you to some mine stuff and a overlook of Baldwin Lake / Past that there is a decision of keep on 3N16 to the highway or turn down 3N61 which has one semi difficult spot at the end / my full size, the 4wd Van, and my dads Disco II all made it through without a scratch / from there you can take 3N03 and a few other trails across to Yucca and hit up Pioneer Town for dinner. The Chili at Pappy and Harriet's is ridiculous. I hope that helps get you through. 2N17 is rated most difficult but it is not that hard and is a great learner trail.

We got to Pioneer Town around 5. I think we met around 8. We took a few rest breaks.

thanks - I am thinking we will use this route to get to Big Bear and then go into town for lunch. After lunch, do a couple trails to find camp and then call it a day. Wake up Sunday, start on Smart's Ranch and then head to Pioneer Town.

Think that'll work?

Awesome. I’m running Gaia. You have an updated trip map you can share?
I’ve got the route in which is on the previous page. Ive thrown some other routes in but I’m leaving it pretty open to see what people want to do. Figure we can get up there, set up camp, grab some lunch, gas up, and go exploring.

Sounds great. I’m excited. And way overly prepared. Is there a fire pit at the camp site? I have a little propane fire pit if we need it.
We will shoot for Holcomb Valley campground on the way in. There’s a few other yellow post sites with fire pits as well. The ring is a good idea just in case but I’m hellbent on a real fire lol
