Best metal fab shop in NorCal for custom off-road bumper with split swing boxes on F550

Hey OB crew,
I have an EarthRoamer that I want to replace the rear bumper on that has a single 6ft slide-out aluminum storage box. I want to replace that with a new custom bumper that has double swing-out aluminum boxes. They switched to split boxes after we purchased ours and they don’t want to get into custom fab on older trucks for split boxes. I may be able to source some components from ER, but not sure how much will work. The fab shop needs to really know what they are doing to tie into the frame properly to support what will be a heavy load that gets beat to heck on a cantilever. Please let me know if you know a NorCal shop that is capable of doing this type of work.

Since you are in the Bay I would check out Bay Area Metal Fab. The can be a bit slow but they do good work.

Have you personally had them do work and if so, what complexity? Thanks for the input

I have a few of their parts. They do mostly Tacoma bumpers and such but they specialize in vehicle protection so they should be able to build something. If you can find someone who already does what you need go with them but BAMF should be able to do it if you can’t find a specialist.

Done but I can recommend Apollo Metal Fab in Napa. Disclosure he’s my brother but a skilled one-man custom fabricator. Check him out. @apollometalfab
