We're exploring BESF this weekend and camping. Going into high-clearance trails. Besides the local office or Ranger (if there's any), is there local groups, recovery, or mechanic that anyone can provide? Of course, I'll Google but the word of mouth and first-hand experience is better. TIAA

During my exploration of the southern end of BESF a couple weeks ago, we regularly crossed paths with PA DCNR/Park Rangers and other PA DCNR personnel. Of course it would be normal for them to not be there when you actually need them... Of note though, in the southern area, around Poe Valley/Poe Paddy, cell service was almost nonexistant beyond spots at overlooks/vistas, so have a comms plan too. I was scanning amateur repeaters/simplex and GMRS freqs and heard only intermittent comms.
