Backcountry Camp Sites Around Calgary

Heya, I am somewhat new to the Overland / Back Country Camping thing. I have based out Calgary and was hoping for some recommendations. I want to take a couple of nights of solo random camping.

I don't know if this is too personal or if they are super secret but I was really hoping for some recommendations on random cam sites in and around the Calgary area? I have asked on a couple of other forms and got diddly, I don't know if its because they are more off road and less camping or if it is because your backcountry cam site is a super secret, but any recommendations would be really appreciated.

Drive along the forestry trunk road (highway 40) north from Cochrane or South from Highwood juction. Explore and camp where you like!

What He Said ^^^. Forestry Trunk runs from the south end to of the province to the north. Check the PLU maps on http://aep.alberta.ca/recreation-public-use/recreation-on-public-land/public-land-use-zones/default.aspx

Thanks for the replies guys. I knew about highway 40 north. But, I never realized that it also started south of Highwood Junction.
