I hear you. I have elaborate plans with slides and doors.
We have a lot of turnover like suitcases, bedding, cooking gear, food, hunting/hiking gear, fishing gear and a dog crate getting rotated through a big pile on most trips so it can't be too constrained. I would like to do doors inside but I'm not sure if they would be useful or just more material getting in the way. The truck bed is where I'm going to build a sliding drawer. My big cooler rolls and fits flush with the bed rails so I'm going to make a paired slider box for "outside" gear.

I will be retired June of next year. I will be pulling a Black Series HQ 19 and will go full time overlanding with HF Ham radios. I will be using my CFX 75 as a freezer and will keep that inside the RAM with other electronic and photo gear. I will have dedicated spots for everything. The bed will have a rack for all the "other" extra gear...Jerry can, Gen set, recovery gear, etc. This build will take a while and should be a lot of fun.
