We are watching ASPW (4xOverland) and are three episodes into the most recent canning stock route series . This is serious stuff they are doing, if anything goes wrong, they are screwed. Vehicle break down, clean out the gear & leave it behind. Life threatening injury, get on the Sat phone and hope someone can fly to you in time, and yet, they are having fun, lots of fun with zero drama. So far only one fix to a bent arm on an IFS Hilux , no drama, take the thing off, straighten it up the best you can, do a barnyard alignment & be on your merry way! Many years ago I made a video opening with Music from PeeWee Herman’s Big Adventure . My wife and I were laughing, poking fun at one another and driving upon some very technical terrain. I took a lot of flack for that from a lot of “serious” overlanders & off-roaders. So, for us it is refreshing that a world class videographer/overlander is having some fun with his presentation of a somewhat serious overland trip.

Some people are fun at parties, others aren’t. He’s got good work and tons of miles behind him which makes for a good presentation.

That's too bad, having fun and poking fun are serious business. As is PEE WEE! Now I havent seen your video...so maybe id end up agreeing with others lol

I like this new series. While somewhat risky, I’m not sure I’d equate it as being dangerous - certainly nothing near the level as those many people that ventured across the west in conestoga wagons.

Dangerous? Did I use that word? I am however, with tongue in cheek, poking fun of all the other YouTube jockies that overdramatize their travels & are way too serious.
