Are 5 Lugs enough?

What are your thoughts on Lug patterns?

Ford used to have a 5x135 on their Trucks (My year body style) but went to 6 lugs on the newer models. Larger vehicles are 8 lug, what do you all prefer for your size Rigs. Have you even thought about it?

Is 5 enough or do large Quarter Ton and bigger need more?

Most Rigs come stock with an 8.8grade stud, is 10.9 better or worse?

8.8 is like a grade 5, and 10.9 is a grade 8. It's just the metric way of marking them. I've had 5 lugs on my Ford F-150, 6 lugs on the Tahoe, and now 8 lugs on the Suburban. I think 5 is enough for a F-150 the most they ever put on those was 7 and they aren't very easy to find parts for.

I ran 33/12.5R15's on my old F150 - a 1989 5.8L SuperCab 4x4. In the dozen years I drove that truck, I never had any sort of issues with either wheels or studs, whether offroad & full of camping gear, or overloaded with firewood & motoring down a back road.

FWIW - my FJ80 has six-lug wheels, but I noticed the other day that new Sequoias & 200 Series Cruisers now have five lug wheels.
