I'm sort of an old-school guy when it comes to documentation. I much prefer paper in my hands vs reading on a screen. With that in mind, is there any way to print off an entire post thread all at one shot? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Install a PDF rear/printer thats associated with your computer. Selected/highlight the desired text, right click, select print. If the PDF has been set to the default setting you should see a screen with the text as it would appear upon printing. However, depending on your screen size, it maybe required to zoom in or out as to adjust the printing area. To accomplish the zoom feature, Ctrl + Mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out.

Might, not sure, help in printing pages as described above by @Jeep Overland Journals if you go to Preferences (drop down from your name, upper right corner in a regular browser, not the OB Talk app) and try out different options.

Try the different themes, collapse user info and sigs, etc and you may be able to get more responses on a single page for copy/print.

@Michael or @Steve may have a far easier solution for printing whole threads in one fell swoop.

Good luck - post back with any great solutions you find.

You could try Google Docs too. Unfortunately hitting Ctrl+A (to select all) and then copy/paste will grab everything on a page. That includes the Calendar text on the right, all the profile info, buttons, and images. It also copies the formatting, so text and background colors are included. You can RMB (Right Mouse Button) in the Google doc, and select Paste Without Formatting to remove the colored formatting.

Something that might take a little longer, but will be much easier to manage is to copy the text from each post. Click and drag the mouse for the text you want, or triple click (yes, that's a thing) to select all the text in a paragraph. A double click will highlight a single word. You'll still need to Paste Without Formatting. For images, you might be able to RMB, Copy Image, and then paste into your doc. This is faster than saving it, clicking Insert Image and then navigating to that folder.

But if you want the poster's info as well, Ctrl+P will print the entire page. I just did a test, and found that the formatting is pretty good, most of the stuff you wouldn't want (like the Calendar) gets pushed to the end of the print, so you could limit the printed pages to not include them.

Like @Road mentioned, change the style to "Default Style" for a white background, found in your preferences, or easier yet, the bottom left corner of any web page.

On Safari on a Mac: File --> Print (You will get the entire page, sidebars and all.
On an iPhone or iPad --> Click the Share Sheet (square with an up arrow) and then Print (assuming you have an AirPrint printer)

To save a PDF for later viewing or printing on a Mac: File --> Print --> Save as PDF. Nothing else to install or configure. All of the links are clickable. (Sample PDF attached)

I do the latter with topics I *really* want to save. I have a folder of tutorial threads from a forum that hasn't existed for several years now, and this is the only way I could access that info.

Here is an example I just printed to PDF from Google Chrome without altering any settings (I browse on OLB Dark Responsive with sigs turned off). It came out pretty good to me.

Michael (or whomever else controls these things) can pretty easily add another 'Style' to the software, and they have some really good basic versions that would be great for printing.
