For sometime now I wanted to build an adventure trailer. I really like the idea of having everything packed, coming home from work, and just hitching up and heading out. I started building one from an utility trailer and was looking on Craigslist for a suitable axle when I came across an old police radar trailer for sale. It was exactly the size I wanted, had 4 corner jacks, a long removable tongue, multiple interior compartments, a roof rack, solar panel, battery mounts for 4 full size batteries and an included battery tender. Needless to say I bought it immediately and sold the other trailer.
Since picking it up I have stripped all the decals, moved one of the tail lights that was randomly offset, painted it in bedliner, upgraded the taillights and cut up and remounted the roof rack to get ready for a RTT.
I have lots of plans including a pull out kitchen from the side door, interior bins for storage, unistrunt around the rack to mount shovel, axe, maxtracks, and a canopy. Also I am going to mount propane and a cooler mount on the tongue.
Once I live with it for a bit I want to do an axle flip with bigger AT tires, a hitch, swing away spare tire and whatever else I can think of.
