5lbs. Propane Storage

Can anyone advise on where and how they have attached one of the small 5lbs. propane tanks to their rig? Any assistance (or photos) is appreciated.

Hi,

The mount I use is from Power Tank. I purchased it from Rebel Off-road Power Tank Propane Tank Bracket for 5 Lb Manchester 1.2 Gallon LP Bottle - BKT-2285

I mounted it to my bed rack in the back, since I do my cooking on my tailgate. (You can see it in the upper right corner of the picture)

These can be handy in the right place. Worked for me for a 5 lb. cylinder. I also put a cable lock on it.

inexpensive 5lb bottle mount?

looking for an inexpensive 5lb bottle mount for propane bottle for my bed rack... I'd prefer one that locks the bottle in, or uses at least 2-3 of the larger SS hose clamp style with rubber isolator pad... I plan to leave it in place on the rack, and get a longer hose to feed my stoves...

I store it on a heavy duty bag that is attached on the rear ladder.

Yeah, we just ordered a Roof Rack and am looking at placing it in a similar spot.

Hi, I had mine previously attached to the side of the bed in the left rear corner so it was easy access from the tailgate, I used quickfist large adaptors. This overall worked well however have since moved it to the roof rear right corner using the Rhino Rack using their adaptor, this so far is rock solid and easy to access/use.

They make a 5lbs and 11lbs propane tank bag with mounting options for a rear ladder or spare tire configurations using straps. Here's a quick video. I carry propane tanks on my Jeep LJ & XJ and on 2 trailers. With the exception of the Adventure Trail Gear bag that I use on my XJ (excellent product!) I fabricated various mounts as needed. Some of the build pieces that I found useful were ... 8" welding tank straps, 4" steel drive plates, rubber toilet gaskets and nylon straps. The tanks shown with nylon straps are also bolted to the base plate.
