Hey friends,
As a new Overlander, naturally I want to start making my new rig (2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO), my own. I live in south Florida near the west palm beach area. There is a 4 wheel parts here in west palm but was wondering if any of you guys have had any experiences with them, good or bad. I appreciate the feedback and safe travels.
Sincerely,
Carlos Leon

I go to 4WP when all else fails, or I want to put my hands on something before I buy it online!

I have bought tires or small stuff from them when they go on sale, like @DRW'S Hi-Yo-Silver said, they occasionally have some sales that are worthwhile.

They seem to be focused on the Jeep and the Side-by-side market and have little for Toyota's as has been mentioned. The universal stuff is OK but if you want armor, bumpers, Toyota-specific stuff, there are all kinds of good vendors that will provide a better product and better service.

Post up here what kind of stuff you want and i'll bet you'll have 10-20 responses about the stuff that people have done or bought that will help you spend your money!

Also, find a good shop if you don't do the work yourself. Don't go to 4WP for installs, too pricey IMO as well.

Good luck, have fun. Thank you for buying a Toyota!

Dan.

When I was shopping for AR172 BAJA wheels the cheapest place I found them was thru Amazon. Since I just happened to have a gift card from 4wheel parts, I gave them a call and they matched the Amazon price. I just had to email them the Amazon link.

You being new to the hobby and with a new Toyota would be much better off using specialty Toyota aftermarket vendors. I have three that I use and none have ever filled me with BS. They have assisted me in research, sold me what I wanted/needed and unlike a lot of the "jeep" aftermarket vendors have never attempted to up-sell me. Toyota specific vendors do not have a cheaper line of products either. A lot of cheap jeep stuff is just that, cheap. How do I know? I was part of the jeep culture for nearly 15 years until we got serious about extended long range trips.

I shop 4 wheel parts before any other vendor. I can get most anything I need through them and most of the time can have it shipped to my local store and not worry that my parts will walk away before I get home! They run great specials during the holidays. Got my set of KO-2s at such a good price and then the store mounted and balanced them for a great price as well.

I've ordered 6 rims from them...all have arrived damaged or dented...not sure if its their fault entirely, but they've treated me well enough on the customer service side...

Yeah customer service is great had to have them replace a winch due to the package being mishandled. in transit.

I ordered Smittybilt front and rear bumpers from them on Black Friday. The status of my order said it was shipped when it wasn't. It took me sending them an email to finally get an answer 2 weeks later on my stuff being shipped. The had the best price by far though so I didn't mind waiting to save about $250.

4 Wheel Parts is OK if you know exactly what you are looking for and have done all the research about the item ahead of time. I don't rely on them solely for advice I just watch the sales and email discounts that come during the year. I to got a great deal on BF GoodRich MT's a couple of weeks ago, no one could come closer to the price they had plus mount and balance.
So my advice is do your research and don't rely on any one place to buy your stuff.

I just looked again at their site.. For jeep stuff I suppose they are alright, but for Toyota? If I were Carlos, or any other person running a Toyota Rig, why would I buy an ARB bumper from 4wheel Parts, a company that obviously caters to the jeep crowd, when I can deal direct with ARB-USA for the very same prices and get expert advice from Toyota heads? Good luck Carlos !

Just picked up five Bfg KO2s in 315/70/17 from them. No sales tax and $100 instant rebate. I had the San Jose store install them today. It was an okay experience, not great.

I just got to say that the 4Wheel Parts 12 days of Christmas sale was awesome, I got some stuff I was wanting for 50% off. I guess it pays to be patient. Now I just need time to pull the jeep into the shop and do some work.

You have to keep an eye on them when you check out. I just purchased a Warn Zeon 10s Platnum Winch. They are supposed to pay the sales tax....$155.00 they didn't. They also charge me $1.00 more for a $6.00 part. This is not the first time this has happen. If you must purchase from them double check your receipt!!!

In 20 years of owning 4x4s, I've bought exactly one item from them, and that was this year. They had the best price on the 4'6" ARB awning, plus I found a coupon for 10% off or free shipping or something, which sweetened the deal even further. I bought it, it came in the mail, everything was fine.
