So, I finally got time to install the fuel regulator, and was able to get her started and running. Lots of throttle to get there and to keep it there. Running pretty rough. Smoke rolling everywhere (as expected). Problem is I'm not sure how far off i am being I'm not sure just how it should sound. Ran it for about 5 min, couldn't do much else but keep it running. Seen what was either a little oil or something around plugs and a few head bolts that was either vibrating or worse leaking. Also still some gas from carb but only when trying to start it not when running. Got late, called it quits for the night, also wanted to recheck fluids after first run just in case. Now just wandering is it the head? Carb? Maybe points? Or something else??? Any thoughts would be much appreciated? I'm starting to think new zenith carb????
