I tried to find out if these trucks had open differentials to no avail, LSD or Posi wasn’t invented yet so I naturally wondered about the rear axles. They must have had good ol Lincoln lockers.

I don't think actual differentials were used in most early cars.

Ford basically invented the articulating rear axle, (they used a 4 spider gear differential that was preloaded with shims) that Scorpion 4x4 use as the basis for there pivoting subframe the only real difference is 100+ years of technology in suspension dampening and control.
