Hi, I was one of the 12 selected to participate in the 2022 Overland Adventure by Motortrend, Four Wheeler and Jeep. I have an FJ62 I've been working on for a few years. I'm looking for help on a check off list, making a pressurized shower, and correct way to wire up all my aux lights. Here is the website of my vehicle:

Bob Evans’ 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 Overland Build

Thanks

For the shower, I prefer low pressure pneumatic rather than electric or gravity. I’ve used all kinds over the years and my personal favorite is my 2 gallon pump sprayer with a sink sprayer adapted to the outlet tube. I added a Schrader valve stem so I can set my air compressor regulator to 15 psi and not worry about changes in pressure. The main benefits are that it can’t drain your batteries or your primary reservoir since it is airgapped from the main supply. Parts are also available virtually everywhere and it can be set in the sun to warm up.

I use a WaterPORT GoSpout, but they have bigger solutions available. All made with food-grade plastic.

Congrats bob, I never miss that special when it comes on MT+. For the shower, you can make a custom road shower, from ABS pipe and some fittings and mount it to your roof rack. It heats up the water in the sun being black, and just use a tire pump to pressurize it. There are some good tech how to's on the net about building this. For your lights, I would only run ground through your firewall and leave all the hot wires outside in the front of your rig. Less chance for interior fires that way. I wire mine to be triggered by the high beam switch since I use mine as forward lighting to help spot moose on our highways. They are also wired to a switch so I can use my high beams by themselves without the eyeball scorchers.

So you use the ground wire as uour switch leg? My goal was the ABS shower but i only have a few more days to finish the rig. Thanks for your input.

Yes, I use the switch to ground on the relay, then everything else works as advertised. Makes for a safer install in my mind. The ground chafes on the chasis its ground, not going to create much of a spark if any. Meanwhile, if you ran power and it chaffed, you would have an area for fire and spark. As for the shower, get an inflatable pressurized shower unit. NEMO makes a great version.
