I'm looking for new tires for my 2020 Ram 1500 (new body style). It's a stock Big Horn and has the night package so I want to keep the same wheels. I'm thinking all season tires but looking for recommendations from the community on size, brand, and whether or not all season is worth it. My current ties do not get very good traction in even moderately poor conditions on roads so they won't handle anything off road.

Falken Wildpeak 285/75/18 MT or AT.
34.8 inch x 11.5 x 18,
60K warranty.
I have a 2019 Ram Rebel and they fit perfect. I like the little skinnier tire and the height is just right at basically 35 inch.

I'm not sure going up that much is something my truck can handle without a lift, which I don't want to do. But I'll take a look at the recommended brands here. I was thinking about going up maybe one or two sizes to a 285 or 295 instead of the stock 275.

My truck is stock height and they fit fine with stock wheels.

...Michelin Defender LTX for on road and even, according to other threads, fire service roads. (Or even the Defender LTX AT for off road). Had many, great on road tire.

...BF Goodrich A/T KO 2 (or 3, I think that's the new one)

285/70r17 is a 32.7 inch high tire, so just about a 33 eyeballing it. The BFG of that look great on my truck, and so far in the little time I have had them, they have performed well. About to find out more as winter approaches

No offense @AtlasBound, i think we are all happy to put in our 2 cents worth on any tire thread, but (and I'm not being critical here, just pointing out) dont know if you conducted even a cursory search, but I can guarantee the SAME people are going to chime in, championing the SAME brands and models tires they ALWAYS have in every other of the thousand threads about tires for trucks. (Except @MidOH ...he recently had a revelation, but still includes his previous favorite in his list)

Thanks for the input. No offense taken and perhaps I could have searched more. However, opinions change, new reviews reveal new things, etc. I'm not a hardcore overlander (or really much of one at all these days, it seems), but I do want something better than I have now. I imagine the truck one has also performs differently with the different tires.

As an aside, I have seen that the KO2/3's don't perform as well in wet conditions as the Wildpeak's do, including street driving.

Eh, no worries. Everyone does it, and I am no authority here at all. You just might find even more info out there in these threads is all.

Anyway I Drove into work this morning, 55 miles in the rain. Headed back for another 55 in the rain. My BFG AT KO2's did just fine. I realize its anecdotal, especially since I've never run Wildpeaks.

I run full DOT slicks on my Mustang in the rain.

You need nothing special, until snow.
