It's build thread time.

I got a good deal on a pretty unique 4runner. Not by any means over the top but still... I really like the T Force kit. I have my doubts about the front skid plate... kinda bendy. The rest is really solid stuff.

The roof rack is really cool!
Pretty drilled for lights... though I fear that they won't be very good way back here... I've always had them up by the windshield. .... I think lighting/outfitting of this rack will be my more difficult undertakeing. Please Chime in on this one.

The rock rail / steps are great! The steps are removable quick n easy. These stay for sure.

What I am buying first is some form of winch mount... T4R had an epic front bumper thread... but I am wanting some info from folk if relative perspective... (an experienced overlanders opinion) lol

I like shrockworks bumpers and it's like an hour drive tops from my house to where they make them in Houston Tx.

Nice rig...I am right there with you on this question. It is such a big decision and with the money outlay, you really want to get it right the first time.

Wow is right, that was an expensive build and probably a SEMA show truck. I would guess about $90,000.

the bumper debate rages on... due time... a few wheeling trips... and i will know.

Another thing, it looks like the light bar for the front would be up above the rack... vulnerable.

also who's running a bar that far back? does it work good?

Mine are about the same location. The 32" OPT7 bar is hidden behind the fairing, so it is mounted a bit lower than the top of yours. The light is just behind the front of the front roof rail cover.

Here's the output with only the OPT7 bar on. The roof doesn't block any light that I notice. (The camera was sitting on top of the steering wheel, which would be right in my line of sight.)

had a blasty blast on the first trip! it was a "soft" break in. :-D pulled my boat up to toledo bend for a week of fishing. the exploring was just dirt roads, nothing special and nothing that wasn't already on maps.

T4R can tow. Put it in sport mode and of we went. best i can tell the boat and gear came in at around 2400lbs.... even jon boats pack a lil lbs man.

heres the goods.

total round trip miles including runabouts was 550 miles.
loaded and towing i got 13.3 mpg on the flats and about 12 in the hills
power was not a problem!
suspension still had plenty of up travel out back

the factory T-force roof rack is not very strong. i will be either replacing it or reinforcing it. my igloo 72 qt was too much. and the way the tie downs work it made it worse.... if i hadnt paid attention my roof would need paint!

mind you i had the boat to put it in... this time.

more research on roof racks to follow.

the terra grappler was impressive. i will likely keep this tire option. i had a few opportunities to test out the down hill assist and i like it too. a-trac is the beez neez... just my opinion..

Baja Flat Rack full length mesh floor.

Waiting on the bumper.

Torn between shrock full rep and souther style winch mount

Got the tent about 8 months ago on a good deal... been waiting and debating and saving and now we got the rack on the way. This will be fun.

Not saying a ground tent hasnt been good to us... we just want to see what the fuss is about with these RTT's! and out factory Tforce rack - while still very sturdy - is not enough for the RTT and other poo we want to take.
