I’m reluctantly putting my 2015 Schutt XVenture XV-2 off-road trailer up for sale. This is the bigger model of XVenture trailers. The bed is big enough for all your gear, motorcycles, or a 4wheeler providing the ultimate backcountry basecamp for adventure or hunting. XVenture trailers are military grade and all aluminum huck bolt construction. Check them out here if you’re not familiar SCHUTT - BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY.
The trailer was painted and outfitted to match the original owners Jeep Wrangler. Best I can tell the color is Deep Cherry Red (Maroon). He also matched the wheels with AEV wheels and 315/70/17 (34.4x12.4) mud terrain tires (matching spare is included but the wheel is black). Wheels are mounted on the standard 3500lb torsion style axle with electric brakes, locking parking brakes, and full articulating hitch. Brakes and led lights are controlled by a standard 7-pin connector.
This was a well optioned trailer from the dealer. It has an adjustable height rack that carries a James Baroud Grand Raid XXL Evo rooftop tent. The tent pops straight up to maximize space and decrease set up and take down time. It has a 3-inch high-density foam mattress (slightly larger than a queen bed), ladder, light, and small solar fan. On the driver side of the roof rack is a 23Zero 270 degree awning that covers the galley and tailgate when extended. I also have zip on walls to make a large fully enclosed living space.
The bed is covered by a lockable, foldable, or removable hard bed cover that opens in the front and back for easy access and to keep your stuff safe. The inside of the bed space is bedlined (as is the frame and storage box) and is where the galley table is stored and on demand hot water heater is located. The 22-gallon water tank is located underneath the bed above the axle in a protective housing.
The all-aluminum galley table unfolds and connects to the driver side fender of the trailer. It has cut-outs to set in the sink and three burner stove with quick connects for propane and water. The hot/cold faucet also connects to the fender over the sink to create a functional kitchen workspace. A shower nozzle quick connects to the passenger side and is also connected to the on-demand hot water heater. Propane is provided by a 20# standard bottle and easily exchanged from the secure tongue mount.
Next to the galley, the large front storage box houses a 63qt ARB single zone fridge/freezer with external insulator and both AC and DC cords. I like to get it cold and loaded in the garage before leaving then switch over to battery when I leave. A Goal Zero Yeti 400 manages power and is backed up with a 60 amp/hour Napa AGM battery. The trailer can easily be plugged into shore power to keep it topped off. An ARB onboard air compressor provides the ability to air up and down or blow off dirt for a trail fix. Switches for the air compressor, water pump, bed lighting, and rock lights are all located in the storage box and everything is fuse protected through a blue sea fuse block.
The back of the trailer has tow hooks and a two-inch receiver hitch to attach any accessories or a swing out spare tire carrier (not included but I really wanted one). A nice set of drive on wheel levelers get the trailer level and rear stabilizers keep things settled. As a testament to Schutt’s military background the trailer has full lift points just in case you need an airlift.
I haven’t had this trailer very long. I’ve always wanted one and couldn’t pass it up when it came up for sale locally. It was garaged kept by the previous owner and shows little sign of use. Everything works as it should. The only defect is a little peeling of the bedliner on the front edge of the lid of the front storage box. The water system is currently winterized. We have two little girls and ended up with a Boreas square drop trailer that fits our needs better. Current Wyoming registration and title in my name. Competitively priced from what I can find out there at $13000. Located in Moose, WY (just north of Jackson near Grand Teton National Park). Feel free to contact me with any questions or specific pictures.
