What’s up Overland Bound,

Joined recently and wanted to share my rig and future plans!

2014 Silverado 1500 CCSB 4x
2.5” King Coilovers up front and in the rear
  • Truck has about a 2.5” lift
  • Adjusted preload to show 9 threads if anyone is curious
Camburg Upper Control Arms
17” Method Wheels
315/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W
  • Minor trimming up front but no rubbing what so ever at this point
Lowrance Elite 5 (hardly use, LeadNav is my preferred GPS)
Rugged 5W handheld
Leer Shell fully carpeted along with the bed
Currently have the truck bed air mattress and a foam topper that fits over the entire space perfect and it is very comfortable for the lady and I.

Didn’t want to use a drawer system in the bed to maintain as much headspace as possible

I used the HD storage totes for camping gear and tools primarily kept in the back seat of the truck along with a jack. All very tight and bound together with lashing straps.
The bed has the yeti cooler, EZ UP and 2 chairs while traveling.

Plans for the future:
Fab up custom hitch mounted table/cooking platform. Make it foldable and packable. Starting that this weekend.
Will keep you guys updated on separate thread!
Side steps
I am very torn between the RB 20’s and the Dominator D6. Any suggestions would be great !

POSSIBLY..... sell the shell and go to a low profile bed rack with an RTT....
More Offroad lighting for the rear
Power Bank (Jackery, Goal Zero with solar)

Thank you all!8AF241B4-14D5-4E07-8740-02E4AC1BC9B5.jpegFF7AC1BE-0788-4C27-9AFA-21B7EDB232AB.jpeg547C644F-175A-4854-A656-575245F557D7.jpeg643A784C-7E4D-4637-981A-7C14B69BCFAF.jpeg

Nice. I noticed you removed a "Portion" of the front lower air-dam. The portion left behind appears to be the center portion.
I assume you had to cut the air-dam in half to have that center section left in place?

The lower air damn is removable, i took it off to achieve a little more ground clearance , for the look as well. i personally did not like the look of it and only lost about 1 mpg, driving a truck with big tires i am not expecting great mpg. Smiles per Gallon:sunglasses:

What do you think of the kings? I was looking at the same for my 18' sierra.

I really do like them a lot paired with the upper arm. The front coilvers are non adjuster, the rears i chose to go with the adjuster because I tow my Rzr and gear to the desert and like to firm it up a bit in the rear to help compensate for the weight.

Overall though very happy with the Kings!

If you want to go a cheaper route and still achieve performance over stock. Any aftermarket upper arm with the Fox 2.0 Coilover OEM Replacement.

I haven't been happy with the stock shocks, when we get on country roads they have no control. My only fear with the kings is they would be harsh.
I was looking at JBA UCAs and the kings. I like the camburgs, but I don't want a unibal in our wet climate in South Tx. From everything i've seen on the Fox's they are ok, but only slightly better than any of the mainstream shocks.

The Kings are great but I have heard that the Fox's tend to be a bit softer. It came down to personal preference for me and i have had kings in the past and went that route again. I hear the Fox 2.5 is a great coil over. At the end of the day it all comes down to what fits your needs. Anything you go with will be WAY better then stock!

Buy Once Cry Once.

Yeah that is my deal, I feel with the Kings, worse comes to worse, I can just send them off to have a slightly different tune. I don't need the truck to ride like caddy, but I also don't need it riding like my track car either. I'm a die hard Fox fan on the MTB side, but from everything I've seen, the kings are the preferred product on the automotive side.

Exactly! If you are truly not happy with how the kings ride when you get them you can send them out to get them re valved, tuned, etc. Endless Options!
