Are you keeping the stock front skids or getting aluminum ones?

@cam_toyota_tech
I ordered one for a TRD Pro 4Runner. It will fit second gen FJ's. I have a welder, so it should fit first gen as well. They are less expensive than any of the ones I've seen aftermarket (RCI & Ricochet). For now I have the stock bash plate. It's pretty bashed. Lol.

I thought about it. But I'm not dead set on these lower shock mounts. If I brace them and add a lower skid. The shock is gonna be tough to install/remove.

I like these mounts. They are for Tacoma.

They've got a hefty price tag on em. But, they come with uppers & lowers.
Then there's these.

I'm not sure which route but the end result will be cutting off the upper & lower factory shock mounts.

Love this thread 07 FJ here
What suspension did you go with?

I went with Bilstein 5100's up front. Toytec Coil over sleeves, with a 1" spacer. This way I get lift without having to preload the springs and get a bouncy ride up front. Rear's got Metal Tech Long Travel. They are the first gen 2" lift springs. Rear shocks are Bilstein 7100, compression 78-rebound 275. I plan on loading this thing down. I can change valving and rebuild these shocks when the seals wear out.

Finally got to stretch my legs. Pics are from last weekend. Camping outside of Hershey PA & wheeling at Rausch Creek ORP.

Nice work. Just added an FJ to our family, so I will be keeping an eye on your build.

What's your plan for a front bumper? I think that's the first thing we will be doing. Really like this Road Armor product but very expensive.

I'm thinking about buying a winch mount from OrangeBoxx Fab. Then buying a tubing bender from affordable benders and making my own front & rear bumpers.

The Warrior products bumpers may be an option as well.

But I like investing in tools. The tools would cost less than the bumpers. So, I'm leaning toward making my own.
