This is my 2000 F250 I'm currently working on. The budget camper build I call it. Its just a standard XLT 5.4 Triton and was already lifted with heavy front/rear leafs added. Just added a rack for the sleeping bag and there will be a tire upgrade soon.

Awesome, Sarge. That thing must be roomy as hell to ride in. And being a 250, it must be rugged as all get out. I've got a Leer cap on the back of my '14 GMC Sierra, and even with only the 6 1/2 foot bed, theres plenty of room to sleep on an air mattress and a sleeping bag. You, on the other hand, could probably fit a bookshelf-headboard in that one

Yes Sir, I had to get the 8ft bed and the raised roof shell mainly because I'm 6ft 5 and 300 plus pounds these days, so those little camping cots don't exactly hold me. LOL I'll add some more pictures soon as the project continues, but with the 3/4 inch plywood and 2×4 legs, I think it's plenty strong enough to hold up this fat guy! LOL

My nephew has a raised roof shell kind of like yours. Mine is less pronounced - maybe 3 or 4 inches. I had wanted it even with the cab roof but having been in it, as any wife will attest, an additional 3 or 4 inches goes a long way towards happiness.

Right now I just use an inflatable mattress and sleeping bag. But i like how you have the platform so you have better storage options.

Nice!
And that rug...it really ties the room together, man!
LOL...yes Sir, I'm literally trying to use whatever I already have, I'm sure the Veterans (ex military) will appreciate the old school "woobie" given to me by dear old Dad. Its Vietnam vintage.

I used my dad's Viet Nam era issued mummy warm sleeping bag an awful lot when I was a kid. That was the best bag. I wonder if the newer ones are as good? But man, it was NOT light.

Oh yes, the new military sleeping bag system is rated subzero. Its in 3 parts, inner bag, outer bag and outer shell... and they are not cheap. LOL
