10,000 OB Members Approaching?

The numbers are not random.

My buddy joined a week after me and has an 8000 member number.....

My buddy joined a week after me and has an 8000 member number.....

He proabably went for 1 member emblem and you for 2? or the other way around.

Not every member number is made in 2, so that when somebody orders a package with just 1 emblem they don't have to throw 1 away. Thats why the member numbers can differ.
Like example. the 8xxx serie is all 1 emblem. and 9xxxx + 10xxx are 2 emblems. so when the 8xxx runs out they will get a 11xxx serie number wich is the next available 1 emblem number. While other people that order 2 emblems still get the 9 and 10xxx numbers.

Hope that explenation made sence xD it did in my head :).

Really? You sure that’s not your order number? I’m #9263 and I just activated my membership a few hrs ago.

Ha! That's the order number! We issue numbers in the order received and we are in the 10,000s now! Woohoo! That is amazing and we look forward to more awesome things to come!

Was one a patch combo or some other variant? What @[DO]Ron said is absolutely correct. More detail: Depending on the configuration ordered, you are in a different number sequence. For example, yellow patch, white patch? Different number sequence. They are all "pretty close" buy thats why orders made on the same day with sometimes have different numbers. We do that so we can ship same day, no matter what is ordered, otherwise a new membership with member patch would be a three week wait.

Lol so that member who joined typed in his order number instead of the member number? That counter on the main forum page just 'reads' what people typed themself?
