Yeah you are really showing your age here lol the Bronco 2 was already built in the 80's bud.
All the hate for something new is gotten stupid. This truck will be very popular and I have one ordered. Coming for a guy who has owned them all including 3500 diesels. This will be a nice small truck...
After trail testing it today and running over logs and up atv trails I’ll always do this style of bumper.
I had it twisted like a pretzel and it did awesome with open diffs and very little suspension lift.
I was testing it today to make sure it was ready for our first trip to Colorado.
Love the bumper and was easy to weld up. I upgraded the torsion bars from nisstec. Biggest problem for the rear swing arm is you really need to push the hing to the outermost point if your doing single swing. If I did it again I’d do duel swings. I can’t put cans on mine as the lift gate...
So been messing with the leaf springs and front torsion bars and think I have it done except for the adjustable shackles. Did some flexing to see if I needed to cut, grind or bend for tire clearance and all seemed good.
Stock bumpers are not very strong, you would need to fab up a mount to bolt to the frame and come through the stock bumper to attach the arm too. its just better to get a new bumper.
Welded some brackets for the hi-lift and installed. That swing arm is getting heavy. Still trying to find a place for the gas cans.
My winch came in today, Got it installed and painted the grill and headlight covers to match the hood and bumper to. Had to cut a little bit off the center mount...
This is the first time doing a build for something like this. I've never just drove around looking for adventure in a 4x4 i've flown. I have family in colorado and love going out there. I always has a rental car and wanted to get further out into the hills. For months I looked for something I...
So trying to find suspension parts for a 1st gen is very difficult. I can't find any shocks in stock and everything else would need to be made or special ordered. Ugh 2nd guessing the xterra now.
So while I’m waiting for suspension parts to come in I started to get a list of things I need and try to figure out the need vs think I need. I have got lanterns and flashlights, small medical kit, Coleman stove, off brand jetboil, chair, cookware. And a few other things. For hot water I’ll...
Well we figured it out after a few hours, the hubs are blown and someone changed the rear to the lower gears. So I need to figures out what hubs to get and I already have a rear axle with 29k miles with the correct gears. I figure I can sell my 4.6 axle to help pay for the other one. We did look...
So found some interesting things out, we suspect they changed one of the axles or gears and the front and back are not turning the same distance. There is nothing wrong with the Tcase. So driving on snow the back tires every rotation spins while the front does not making me think they put the...
