Nah man, don't use the factory points. Those are not recovery points, they are lash down straps for shipping across the ocean on a boat, or on a train car. They'll break, and other stuff will break when they break, and then you'll still be stuck. I'd say a super-a%% basic recovery kit should...

You can get a hitch recovery mount via amazon too... I wouldn't be surprised in NT or 4WP are closed right now b/c of the pandemic.

Now as for LBL.... a winch is a very, very good idea. Especially if it's rained in the previous 90 days :) I personally do not have a winch, but I dont go up there without maxtrax and making sure at least one truck in the group has a winch.

You absolutely do NOT need a winch to drive the Dirt Devil roads. They're just graded, dirt roads. Only one section is challening, Ben Fly Road, and that doesn't require a winch.... (I also just gave you a location clue)

Cool man, glad you enjoyed it. Not a terribly difficult trail, but the off camber rocky sections towards the top are a bit unnerving for sure. I can also imagine if it were heavily muddy and rutted, those drop off edges could be a bit scary as well. Shame about the beer cans, but ya know...

How rutted out was Hurricane Creek? I've been hearing that with it's gain in popularity it's getting destroyed. haven't been up there in a long time though, so I can't say whether that's true or not...

Trust me... you don't want it to get muddy out there. It's brutal. LBL is much more fun when it's dry. That mud out there takes no prisoners.

I'm no expert, but I'd look for floor rust, and rust on any suspension components. Do the brakes work? I'd try and hit him at 1100 if I were you.
