Hi caspoint220/Steve - I see you put the Red Squirrel Camp Site Glen Coe on the member map. I remember it being quite damp, but for some reason the map is showing it just off Germany in the NorthSea. Must be Global Warming thing? :)

Looks like you got some good days in the north. The NE250 is a new route, set up after the success of the R500. Living in the area I guess I have travelled most of it, all be it not as single trip.
From what we can see it is a bit different. The scenery is more about the Deeside valley...
Will do. I think map deliberately relocates positions by a few miles for security reasons. I'm slowly gearing up for trip to northern Norway, Sweden. Good luck with your planning,

There are many intresting roads. Very few offload unless you have Estate/landowners permission. You are right that the Forestry Commission tracks will probably be closed.
In addition to the NC500, some of my favorites for touring are:

A82 Glen Coe - classic...
I like the idea of regular meet-ups but it's a bit far from Aberdeen. I am looking at going down to the Overland Show in September though, we could find away to meet up then..
