WARNING: Original hubcentric M416 wheels and Powder Coating

I can post pics but it's just going to be the wheels not on the hub or the wheels on the hub after I sanded the powder coat off and coated with some paint. Not sure what that's going to add to the thread. I was just letting people know that powder coating might close those tight tolerances too...

Looking for beginner overland/camping trip for Bronco and M416 trailer

I'm an experienced camper but new to overlanding. I built an M416 military trailer into a camping trailer. Looking to plan a trip for August or September or October this year somewhere in NJ, PA, NY or within 4 hours of northern NJ. I know there are no true overlanding spots but I'm looking...

WARNING: Original hubcentric M416 wheels and Powder Coating

Thanks for the tips. The wheels are on now and they are riding fine but I am worried about corrosion. I didn't even think about problems removing the wheels later. I'm going to take them off and paint them and then grease them to ease installation and prevent corrosion. I'm not sure I can take...

Tires for the original M416 trainer wheels?

Just an FYI, my wheels wouldn't seat on the hub with the powder coating. I had to sand off the inside rim to get them to seat. Sucks.

WARNING: Original hubcentric M416 wheels and Powder Coating

Little public service announcement for anyone with the original M416 hubcentric wheels and they're getting them powder coated... They have EXTREMELY tight tolerances. I didn't know this would be a problem. I got the wheels powder coated black and I painted my axle and hub with POR15 and black...

Tires for the original M416 trainer wheels?

They are powder coated. They cleaned up really nice I like the look. I couldn't find anything in a 5x5.5 that I liked. Definitely wanted black color. I didn't want to use wheel adapters or change the axel either. These look great and are visually similar to my Bronco wheels that they look good...

Tires for the original M416 trainer wheels?

So I'm trying to decide what tires to buy for my M416 trailer project. I have decided to stay with the original wheels. They were in good condition and I had them powder coated. I measured the wheel and it's 16 inches x 5.5 inches wide. The closest tire size is 215/85/R16. This size will fit...

    M416 Trailer Wheels

I'm looking for aftermarket wheels for my M416 trailer build. I know they have the 5x5.5 bolt pattern. I was told to get 16x6 or 16x7 wheels but they're not that common. I'm also concerned about the backspacing. I know they're going to stick out a bit but I don't want them to be ridiculous...
