Really loving that this thread is firing back up since Im planning my trip now to leave early July thru mid-Sept. Leaving CO after 4th of July and headed north thru WY and MT on the way up to Banff and all the other places mentioned in this thread. End up at my parents outside Seattle in...
Im going again. Yeah. Its loud with people...oh...I dont know...having fun! So I dont care. You have to expect loud when going to places like Pismo. But I had fun and met lots of great people. Even got stuck in a bowl which taught me recovery. Then...helped someone else! Hope you make it there!
So have made quite a few changes to my 4th Gen 4Runner so I am selling some of the items just sitting around. Some are never used and all are in great condition.
Renogy Extension Cables (Used once) 20ft - 12AWG with connectors - $30
Prinsu Rack Awning Mounts - $35
Wilson 305-38 300W Magnetic CB...
I have used an Indel B for a year and a half and never let me down. Its a narrower footprint. Just got a Dometic cuz I wanted to go against the "IG Famous" crowd tho the Dometic brand is getting more popular in the Overland crowd. They have been in the RV scene for a long time. Happy so far...
I have the Acopower 120w 12V as I got a deal on it and I like it. I had the Renogy and it was way to big. I keep the Acopower stays in my JB tent. I have no experience with the other so can't speak to that.
Depending on date I'll come out! I would say do it at Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola, not the Santa Cruz location. Parking in front and rear and in nearby spots. Plus...great beer!
This is what I'm running as well and love them. SUPER quiet even after some mileage and great in all conditions. And I've had a lot of different brands.
I'm definitely in depending on the weekend. Hitting OE West in mid-May. Thinking if no one does this in May the first weekend of June would be perfect. Especially after Memorial Day when I'm sure the trails will be packed.
Ya know...I thought about getting out and taking pics coming down Lippincott, but I just wanted down! HAHA But agreed Racetrack, Lippinott to Saline and Saline till you got to going up over the range was bad. I was constantly checking my 4R especially after knocking the alignment out of whack on...
Oh I know. I didn't say I drove fast did I? I was at 15-20 the whole way at lower tire pressure and soft setting on the Icons. Like you said...nothing was gonna make it smooth. That rode is brutal. But Lippincott is worse. I was not a fan. Damn heights

Oh I definitely adjust depending on what terrain I'm on and how much I'm loaded up. Every day pavement pounding I run them more stiff. Icons are great but do require maintenance. Not sure if King's over adjust-ability like Icon but may want to look into them as well.
Yes...DEFINITELY air down. I went down to 18psi and set my Icons to the softest setting. The washboard roads at some points were brutal and towards the end, kind of annoying. Didn't help I tweaked my alignment really bad on Lippincott so I was paranoid with lights on the dash on. It wasn't that...
Very cool man. I was there weekend before last. Amazing place. I'm thinking the next two weekends there will be busy because of Spring Break. I'm not into photography so I don't get amazing night shots like this. I'm a phone photo taker guy and I have too many hobbies already so adding expensive...
That is a lot to do in one day. I started in Big Pine and went south and ended at Saline Valley and 190. That was a full day and I didn't stay at the Racetrack an hour. It's cool...but more than 15min and some pics and I was ready to go. I even walked out to the grandstand. I came down...
Looks like a great trip! Thanks for the recs on the books. I'm going to pick them up. I'm really liking your route and hopefully can meet up with some locals in the more populated areas of Canada and Alaska. Maybe show me some trails. I'm on no time frame but your routes hit almost everywhere I...
Selling my CVT Mt Shasta Summit Extended Stargazer RTT (Gray). Included with it is a 79" CVT Awning which has only been used maybe 5x so is in perfect condition. If you have a Prinsu rack I also have the mounts for the awning. The tent has was bought Jan 2017 and has been used maybe 15 times...
