Have a lightweight aluminum cot and a REI Camp Mattress that works great.
Looking forward to the first time to use the T3x. Hopefully this Friday night at the deer lease. Likely to be some pics to follow.
Yep, I will use a cot. Cot acts as a bed and bench inside the tent. Find a cot much better than sleeping in the floor. Have a good enough sleeping pad to sleep on the floor, but prefer a cot nowadays!!
Had to make a change to the sleeping arrangements after the shakedown overnighter. Although the sleeping platform was comfortable, maneuvering inside the back of the Runner was much more difficult than this 61 year old cares to to deal with.
So, I stepped up to the Gazelle T3x. I took my time...
Finally found a mount and location to carry the Hi Lift. Headed to the mountains in a month and will be in some areas where it may come in handy. And, it looks cool!
Yes, am concerned about the angle and bouncing around off road. Good thing is I can adjust it pure vertical if needed. The...
Agree completely. And, knowing how to read a map and use a compass is necessary skill because electronics fail and batteries run down. So, never get lost made for good click bait!
Added the Ram Mount for my Garmin GPSMAP66i with Inreach technology. With my onX OffRoad and this little bit of technology, I’ll never get lost! And, if I do….I’m Inreach!
Would like to see some pics if you have them. Eventually will upgrade to higher capacity battery, these two will work for now. Next upgrade will likely be a AC to DC charger so I can charge the battery while at home without having to set up. The solar panels.
Had built one previously before Jackery and Ecoflow and others really became a thing. Did it mostly to learn the basics of solar power and battery storage.
The upgrade is ~430W 36AH with 1000W inverter. Plan is to add a DC battery charger so I can plug it into the 4Runner while traveling...
Took a while, but finally got one of the drawers built for the drawer system and cargo deck. This is the gear drawer (recovery gear is in the Pelican case on top).
The kitchen drawer is going to take a little more design.
Now I just need some organization with some @step22gear. On the list!!
Like the location, but seems to be much more junk being dumped there.
So, we can “own it” and leave it better than we found it, or may need to find a new place. Little concerned about tires on the drive out.
Thoughts?
Good time today at the rally point. Looking forward to the July meet as I will in business travel in June.
Recommend we pick one rally in the future to do some or all of the Hill Country Back country route - as long as there is at least one water crossing.
