As I said, 4 years in and it’s hard for us to imagine living any other way. Our 40’ fifth wheel is a huge space for us now and we couldn’t imagine a massive amount of space that a conventional house brings. We do almost all of our cooking outside and most nights we sit by the fire. We don’t have...
We moved into an RV 4 years ago and although we don’t travel full time we do stay for long stretches of time in a lot of different places. It takes away all of the monotony of staying put but maintains some stability. This is a much less expensive way to live which enables us to do fun things...
I got the tall mounting brackets but not for a tent. I found that they serve multiple uses. I mount my road shower with them. They are 1+” above the top of the side rails of the FR rack and 2+” total height. The only thing I would say about this because I wanted that tent is that it gets pretty...
I have a dual battery system with jumpstart capabilities and a monitoring system. Redarc Manager 30. I can plug in to a 110 outlet and charge as well as power accessories when I am near power or use solar. I still carry cables because you never know.
Thank you!! Just a few major things left on her. The next thing is the rear axle because it leaks pretty good and needs an air locker. Then rust repair and interior. Who am I kidding? Vintage trucks are never done. It is about time for a surf trip up the coast though.
Finished my spare carrier. It swings out and has a drop down table on the inside. Just need to extend the license plate light wiring harness and it’s complete.
My tire carrier swings out from the passenger side so I mount my awning on the drivers side otherwise my carrier would be right in the middle of it when open.
I have it installed on the firewall behind the dash so you can’t see the unit itself but here are some shots. The Spod controls my accessories and is tied into the second battery
Redarc manager 30. Dual battery isolator with monitor and solar capabilities in one. And you can plug in to shore power like an rv to charge if needed. I have it and it is rad.
In all fairness they weren’t designing it to be a modern take on a classic design like the new bronco. It was made specifically to fill the void of an executive SUV which it kind of does. It is exactly what they intended it to be. My .02
The way I see it is, who cares what its called if you are having a good time. Call it overlanding, trail driving, glamping whatever. Yes typically overland travel is for longer durations but I don't necessarily agree with the crossing international borders requirement. Bottom line is to get the...
Yeah I don’t want to get in anyone’s way. What I was getting at was once things are under control really. I did read an article saying they are looking for donations in the immediacy like canned goods, tents and sleeping bags to help shelter victims.
