Started to build-out my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. Went with wheels and tires first, and added a spare tire mount so that I can carry a full-size spare.
More to come!
Stock before any changes.
Black Rhino Wheels and KO2s. They didn't stay clean for long as I had to find a place to try them...
Don't be hating on the subies.
This is overlanding and not rock crawling. My Crosstrek has had a minimal change in fuel economy and is way cheaper than a 4 Runner.
Run what you wanna run and have fun.
I'm looking at options to carry extra fuel and found the Titan Trail Trekker II.
Does anyone have any experience with them?
Looking for pros and cons.
Thanks.
James
When I lived in Alaska I carried an 1895 Guide Gun in 45/70 when hiking in the wilderness. This is a hunting rifle in the US, but not sure about how Canada classifies them.
Not sure about Canada or the lower 48, but if you killed a bear in Alaska, you had to remove the hide and tongue and turn...
Unfortunately, Yes.
After 9/11 the state built a statewide communications system called WyoLink, using homeland security grant funding. This was great because it fixed interoperability between all first responders, but no one thought ahead on how to maintain the system. Now they decided to bill...
No doubt!
We are trying to limit radio time as the state is starting to bill us, but the old-timers can't give up talking on the radio versus pushing buttons on an iPad.
Scott,
I feel your pain. We added iPads to our apparatus and the monkeys kept ripping them out of the mounts. Can't have nice things with firefighters around. We use them for IamR and CAD.
Just getting back into Overlanding and this time around I'll be running a 2019 Crosstrek. Just working up the build, so she is still stock but hope to order wheels and tires soon.
I would second the cargo area build write-up. Trying to figure out mine and would love to hear how you did yours, especially the cooler slide out.
Great build!
