I drive a 2016 4x4 Sprinter. On-road pressures are 55lbs in front and 70 lbs in rear. When I leave the pavement I am never quite sure how low to go with my tire pressures. I typically drop them about 15 lbs and hope for the best. I am usually on forrest service roads or "moderate trails". This...
Are you still planning to go in July?
I am planning to go. I'm near Santa Cruz, but would love to meet somewhere - say Los Banos or Madera, depending on which highway you choose.
FYI - I have not been getting the email notices on this. I had to search through my emails to find this.
I am planning to go with the morning group. I have a handheld CB.
MY cell # - 831-234-1839..
I’m driving a 4x4 Sprinter Van so trail difficulty needs to be easy, or I could ride along with...
June 26 I will leave my home on the California coast. First stop will be in Folsom, Ca to pick up my Godson who has just graduated from high school, then on to So. Lake Tahoe for our first night. Next morning we will head north along the west side of Lake Tahoe to catch I-80 East to the Grand...
No photos, but in 1971/72 I offloaded in a stock 1957 VW bug. The only modification it had was the bailing wire that held the bumper on. I had to hold the gearshift back or it would jump out of gear when the RPMs got a little high. Lots of fun.
I get asked about my rig a lot. (2016 4x4 Sprinter with a pop up sleeper and roof rack). Usually in a parking lot, by someone who is an old backpacker, looking for a way to still get out - but that is easier on the knees, the back etc. I'm planning a cross country adventure this summer -...
I agree. It doesn't matter what you shoot. Just shoot! Phone cameras these days do an amazing job.
That being said, I travel with two friends who both shoot Nikon while I shoot Canon. There is a constant banter (good natured) about which is better. If one of us misses a shot his equipment has to...
We spent this last weekend at our home in Arnold, Ca. and got HAMMERED by the storms that came through Northern California. Arnold got 6 inches of rain on Sunday alone. Monday morning, the skies cleared and I decided that I would drive up to Corral Hollow, a favorite destination for many of our...
Don't know what happened. It looks like the photos got double posted. Sorry about that.
The Website isDanTracyPhotography.com. Lots of FJ love over there. Didn't want to overload this thread.
I had a great time at the Rally this past weekend. I got to photograph some of the Gold group and all of the Blue group as they conquered the first "Gate Keeper" obstacle. If you were in one of those groups and do not see your photo here you may go to my website to see the rest.
As much as I have been looking forward to joining this convoy, I have just signed up to help with the set up for the rally so I will be going up on Thursday. Don't wait for me in Gilroy.
The "next year" thinking is too easy to fall into, as we all know from experience. I just got a reminder of the danger of it last week. I am a retired teacher. We got word that a former colleague of mine passed away in her sleep. She was in her early 60's.
'Next year' is not guaranteed for any...
Sounds great! If you take the Airport Blvd exit into Watsonville, there is a Starbucks at Freedom and Airport. If we meet there at 6:30 we should have plenty of time to get to Gilroy by 7 AM. I'll be easy to find. I have a 4x4 Sprinter with a rack on the roof and a ladder up the driver's side.
Thanks for the suggestion. Deleted Cookies, logged off OB, Logged off browser. Still won't let me into the thread. Error message keeps coming up. "You don't have permission.......".
