Man, it's been a minute!
Lots of updates, including an AEV Procal Snap to fix my tire pressure indicator and speedometer, a Blue Ridge Overland Gear toolbag customized for my 2500, and just yesterday...
A new Snap! Outfitters Treehouse, complete with an OVS 270 degree awning.
Looking...
Just posted a video of my Blue Ridge Overland Gear tool bag yesterday…tried to specialize it for my Ram 2500.
What Tools Do You Need for Your Ram 2500 Power Wagon? (Blue Ridge Overland Gear Tool Bag Review)
I’m so sorry to see that you have this up for sale! Your videos were one of the reasons I took the plunge for a Snap! Treehouse. Mine is set to begin construction any day now.
I hope there wasn’t something wrong with the topper, and I wish y’all the best on whatever is next!
There’s some posted things n the OB app…also, I posted this video on some out-of-the-way ones on the northern side of the GWNF:
Get Out There! #1 - Overland Camping in the (Northern) George Washington National Forest
Good luck!
Light bar. And a skottle. Perhaps a drone. I mean, can you even overland without them?
In all seriousness, I’d go with tires. I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure that pretty much all Toyotas come from the factory with sub-par off-road tires (or maybe just highway variants). Decent ATs that...
Just posted a video highlighting some potential camping spots in the northern (Lee District) part of the George Washington National Forest.
Hope y'all are able to take advantage of this beautiful spring weather.
After running into an issue prompted by my, er, "failure to appreciate" just how much bigger the breakover angle and differential sizes are on the Ram 2500s, I got to do a trail repair--with zip ties, no less--at a recent OB Rigs and Coffee, followed by dropping the ol' driveshaft to get home...
I second this…the Viair 400P might get a bit hot and take its time, but it’s well-constructed and the hoses that come with it are also high-quality, unlike some others (looking at you, ARB).
Evening!
So, I've been noticing that there's an awful lot of discussion out there on the "appropriate" MPG for overland vehicles, and how full-size (never mind HD) trucks/SUVs are thus not good categories. Now, I recognize that we're all getting punched in the face/wallet with the current fuel...
Welcome! There's a Rigs and Coffee meetup east of Harrisonburg on the first Saturday of every month that pulls OBers from a pretty wide distance...you should join us!
I was thinking of doing the same thing, but was debating if I wanted them up there full-time or not. What made you decide to go the permanent route vice temporary?
OP: I’m happy to provide pics of the internal skeleton on the ARE HD cap that (hopefully) will end up on my truck in a few weeks. I ended up going that route because no topper makers would give me a firm weight limit…it was always a “you should be fine” or “about that much” with blank looks when...
Dang…and here I thought my HD Ram was supposed to be a gas-swilling pig. I see 15-16 mpg (hand-calculated) at 70 mph. City driving puts me at about 11-12.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the fuel range, unless you’re planning on driving the Mojave or something. There’s always the...
